Greetings Pontiac & Ottawa Valley Fiction Writers (and Friends Of!):
I would like to introduce you to the Pontiac & Ottawa Valley Writers’ Circle (POVWC) in hopes that you will either join or tell everyone you know who likes to write fiction that they should join.
The Pontiac & Ottawa Valley Writers’ Circle (POVWC) is a newly formed, entirely volunteer-run opportunity for writers of fiction living in the Pontiac and the Ottawa Valley to come together to enjoy the benefits of a creative writing community. The website was launched on December 19th, 2016. (http://povwc.ca)
The POVWC is beginning as a pilot project under the Pontiac Artists Association (PAA) where writers of fiction in the Pontiac and Ottawa Valley are invited to join for the opportunity to get together to discuss writing, the industry and to give and receive critiques of one another’s work.
The POVWC will meet on the first and third Thursday of every month, beginning on February 2, 2017, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Stone School in Portage-du-Fort, Quebec.
The meetings of the POVWC will fall into one of several formats, including:
- Short Fiction Critique Nights
- Writing Circle Nights
- Long Fiction Critique Nights
- Reading Nights
All writers of fiction are invited and welcome!
The goal of the POVWC is to foster the development of a strong fiction writing community in the area as well as to offer opportunities for writers to strengthen and grow their skills among peers.
When submitting to literary magazines, contests, publishers or when querying agents, feedback from other writers is pivotal to producing the best writing possible.
Please visit our website and fill in our form on the “Interested?” page to let us know what aspects of the writing circle interests you most.
I hope to see you at our first meeting.
