In an effort to expand my own vocabulary, I am continuing on my endeavour to participate in “Wordy Wednesday”. I pick words from colleagues, friends, articles and novels… And really from anywhere.
# 1) Sylvan: (adjective) consisting of or associated with woods; wooded. Pleasantly rural or pastoral.
Example: They’d moved to a sylvan town, surrounded by farms and forest. They wouldn’t have to worry about any lack of privacy here.
# 2) Lambent: (adjective) (of light or fire) glowing, gleaming, or flickering with a soft radiance.
Example: The room was quiet and still, warmed by the lambent light from the fireplace.
# 3) Verdancy: green with vegetation; covered with growing plants or grass: a verdant oasis. 2. of the color green: a verdant lawn.
Example: They stumbled upon it by accident, this hidden farm, tucked away in the forest. The fields were verdant and alive with sound, birds and crickets alike.
Thanks for coming out for another Wordy Wednesday!
